Animation Group Challenge: 1. Self Portrait

The awesome facebook animation group decided to do weekly challenges to keep our skills in tip-top shape for the start of the year. The first challenge was a self portrait!

I've been really really interested in old 50's style cartoons lately, and so I thought I'd take a try at it! I think the simplicity of this art style is a lot more difficult than it seems, and it makes for some very whimsical and playful drawings. Can't wait to try it out on more pieces!

Score Sheet!

I think I can agree with everything on here, except for the two 1's for my action Poses. I'm not too sure if I should appeal yet, but I'm definitely considering it!

Portfolio Part 5

And last but not least, here are my 5 personal artwork pieces! I forgot to label them as such, but each of these drawings are from life. Except for the tornado of course :P. That piece was from a Figure Painting class, where we had to paint the figure from life, and then add in our own backgrounds from imagination. I miss that class!

Portfolio Part 3

This is the Storyboard. This is probably the part that gave me the most trouble. It took a lot of revisions to get it right.

Portfolio Part 4

These are from the remaining life drawing portion of the portfolio.

Portfolio Part 2

This is the second batch! These are all the parts to do with my character Richard. I made him a British pilot from World War 2.

Portfolio Part 1

First Batch of Portfolio pictures! These are all the life drawing figure parts of the portfolio, with the first 2 omitted.
